Having worked in the accounting field for 24 years, Houry has had a wide range of experiences. She spent the first five years of her career at a large international CPA firm, working in the assurance department. She then worked as controller and CFO for a manufacturing company for nine years, where she gained a tremendous amount of experience in operations and management of private business. In addition to traditional accounting and finance functions, her responsibilities ranged from costing and pricing products to managing human resources and IT and analyzing manufacturing processes and efficiencies.

Houry has been a dedicated employee of Moquist Thorvilson Kaufmann Kennedy & Pieper LLC since 1998. She helps companies select suitable financial systems and implement them while offering technical assistance through support calls. Houry also assists companies in analyzing business processes, financial information and operational systems. She has achieved the Certified Information Technology Professional designation from the AICPA, based on her years of experience with business technology.

Interests and Activities

Houry, her husband, and their two daughters love to travel together, hike and attend theatrical productions and musical concerts. She enjoys reading about health and nutrition, cooking (spicy!) vegetarian meals and playing piano. She is also actively involved in church activities.
